These tools can rotate / flip the image. They can be applied on selections also. If you want to rotate an image at a given angle, then use the Free Rotate dialog.

It flips the image horizontally
It can be applied to an image or selection.

It flips the image vertically
It can be applied to an image or selection.

graphic Rotate left
It rotates the image 90º left
It can be applied to an image or selection.

It rotates the image 90º right
